Gone are the days that you just check your messages via phone and clear emails only. Now, you have to check other platforms like yahoo messenger, blogs and FACEBOOK! I admit.. I am not that active with my FB account. I was out all day with Raph celebrating my bday and at the end of the day when i opened my email, I was surprised to see FB alert email flooded my inbox.

So, to all those who greeted me via phone calls, sms text, emails, chats, blogs and facebook (and also in person), thank you so much! I am glad I have met all of you at one point in my life. Friends make life a lot more FUN! (and family too!)

At the stroke of midnight, Raph surprised me big time. You see.. he's not the type of guy who will give those mushy stuffs like flowers, chocolate, stuffed toys, etc. He'd rather give something that works and can be used like gadgets, oakley stuffs and others. This is the second time he has done it, grrr.. i don't really fancy surprises but i must say i enjoyed it. loveeet!

I spend whole day of working (hard) taking photos of all these sumptuous, mouth-watering dishes (I have the best (part-time) job!) and at the same time sticking to my diet and not over-eat and pig out. There was too many food that I don't remember the names already. Here are some of the result of that eventful day. For some reasons, I cannot reveal for which company this is for, they will use this for their revamped menu and item display.

Exhibit A (some Chinese noodles)

Exhibit B (this must be a pizza)

Exhibit C (seafood pasta as shown)

Exhibit D (another Chinese noodle)

Exhibit E (sweet dessert, they say this is the most pricy of them all)

Exhibit F (pasta again with some meat inside)

Exhibit F (a salad with greens) and G (some kind of sandwich)

Exhibit H (it is chicken)  and I (three burgers)

Exhibit J (middle east kebab) and K (red alcoholic drink)

For something I enjoy doing, I didn't notice that I am taking photos for 10 hours. Yeah, yeah, I can hear Gloria Estefan singing (time flies.. when you're having fun..). But that's no joke, taking photos for 10 hours means 10 hours of standing on your feet, arranging, rearranging and non-stop rearranging for the perfect angle and light. I want to have more of this experience. Physically, it's very tiring but seeing the result takes you to a different level of emotional high.

I don't have other interesting subject. This is my flower arrangement from years back. And we have nothing inside the fridge but some tomatoes and chillies left and grapes. Anyway, I just want to play with my newly bought lighting gears for my product shots.

We can also use "Sinigang Recipe" as a title.

Appetizer: Roast Duck in rice wrapper with green papaya salad
Rating:   3 stars, maybe i'm not into duck dishes but I like the papaya salad side dish

Main Dish: Kway Teow with Wagyu Beef
Rating:   3 stars, if not for the Wagyu Beef which melt in your mouth, this dish offers nothing more special than the hawker centre version. I was hoping for an unforgettable dining experience but I was disappointed.

Notice the small dot in the middle on top? It's actually gold AGAIN! This is the second time this year that I am eating gold for my dessert.

Dessert: Mango sherbet with pineapple
Rating:   3 stars, too sour for me. Maybe I'm used to eating sweet mangoes from Philippines. But the contrasting taste of mango and pineapple plus the creamy sauce makes a very interesting taste combination. I still manage to finish my servings.

Location: Capella, Sentosa Island Singapore
Price:  too pricy
Service:  excellent, they compensate for the dish
Ambience:  excellent, though it's raining, the view and location does feel from a different place or country. Surrounded with excellent greeneries, I very much love trees that's why the biases.

We could've shoot more but it's raining. And all of us have to rush back to the office. Back to reality!

Me with Robert G Allen! I'm so blessed to be able to meet him in person. He's the author of bestseller books like "One Minute Millionaire", "Multiple Streams of Income", "Millionaire Code" and others. He gave us special gift. I'll post it next time.

Let's just say it's the Equinox experience. There's so much hype about this resto in the 70th floor (the highest pt in Singapore) and their much talked about Foie Gras  - though personally I don't eat liver so it doesn't really excite me when my boss told me we're having lunch over there with VIP guest Robert G Allen (famous American author, "One Minute Millionaire" and speaker).

Moving on, ambience..check! Fantastic view.. check! I've realized that if only i had my 24mm lens with me at that time, I can take picture of Suntec to Harbour Front in one frame. DARN! What a waste. I brought my handycam with me, ever dependable lumix panasonic.

Anyway, I'm not there for the view, I was there for the food. After a few clicks here and there, I went straight to the buffet table. For me, presentation is quite standard.. just like in any hotel settings, tastefully done visually.

Here comes the Fat Liver (Foie Gras)
notice the small dent on one corner?..yes, i gathered all my strength to eat that liver. and i actually made few chews and swallowed the whole thing. After that, I passed it on to my colleague.
I think, I'm more of a streetfood-type of person. It actually taste less "fishy" than I expected. The waiter actually asked if we want another round, my colleagues go and get one more. I asked for one more round but it's for my colleague who really liked it.

But I'm not really disappointed with their other servings. Aside from buffet offers, we will have to order one menu - choices of pasta, NZ steak and salmon fish. I ordered the steak. Maybe to compensate for "the liver", i had the best steak prepared. Mine is just right, while others was a bit chewy. Is it because the waiter is my "kababayan", fellow Pinoy, that's why they gave the best to me. Hehehe.. Advantages, benefits, and priveleges of being served by fellow Pinoy.

THE SURPRISE GUEST No. 1

SURPRISE GUEST No. 2

Freshest oyster I've ever eaten. I can only eat something this fresh in Boracay - only because it's in the seaside. But in the middle of the city? I don't know how they do it. They also have fresh live shrimp but i didn't eat it because I didn't bring my antihizz, i don't wanna end up with Angelina Jolie lips or Manny Pacquiao-aftermatch-look. I finished more than a couple of plates and took a few trips back and forth the oyster section.

Now we go for desserts.

The selections was good that I forgot to take photos of them. But i manage to take a few snaps of what was left of it.
This photo doesn't do justice, but that chocolate dessert got gold trimmings!
Their desserts are one of the best. Normally for buffet meals,
what's left on the plate are desserts, but mine i had a clean plate!

Equinox located at Swissotel Stamford Hotel, 70th floor.
Opens 12nn to 11pm.
I'll post Robert G Allen next time, I had a photo with him! And he gave us a special gift, signed by him.
